Howard’s Commitment to Vulnerable Communities

In commemoration of the yahrzeit, June 2, 2023, of Howard Klaus, Hanino Ben Osnat (חנינא בן אסנת) and his philanthropic nature, Hall Street 3PL and HK Organization began a philanthropic campaign promoting the charities Howard – our friend and co-founder –  championed throughout his life:

The beginning of the event was such a success, that each year we will continue Howard’s legacy of contribution and support the organizations he was devoted to. Together, we strive to create a positive impact for people in need.

In Loving Memory of Howard Klaus

Howard (Howie) Klaus was a founding principal of the real estate development firm HK Organization and a friend and mentor to countless people throughout his lifetime. A true visionary, Howie oversaw the acquisition, construction, redevelopment and repositioning of underutilized assets, such as the Smith Gray Building in Williamsburg, 52 East 4th Street on The Bowery and the Empire Stores in DUMBO.

With a charismatic personality and big heart, Howie was extremely charitable. Not only did he express his dedication through donations (many of which were anonymous), but through action. Howie was giving of his time and changed the trajectory of many lives through his hiring decisions – positively impacting their families for decades. Uplifting people in need is the common thread amongst the many charities Howie championed throughout his life.

A lifelong Brooklynite, Howie was dedicated to his community and pioneered many efforts to make the borough a better place. Howie, was a devoted husband to his wife Barbara and loving father and grandfather to his five children and 14 grandchildren. He is remembered as someone who enjoyed life and was passionate about his work, community and causes.
